Это просто примеры того, насколько естественно использование слова lord в английском тексте (и, развивая мысль, -- насколько неестественно оставлять его без перевода)
Что касается "Lord Valerian" - ну а какое слово использовать англоязычному писателю? Ну как же объяснить, что для них это
родное слово, а в русском языке его без перевода оставляют только в случае
конкретных лордов - английских аристократов.
А тем более, что ты-то не переводишь текст с английского, и тебе совсем не надо ломать голову, как назвать аристократа по-русски.
